When I got him home, we put him in the kitchen with a baby gate up so he could explore a bit without getting too overwhelmed, and kept the Chihuahuas upstairs. My husband commented on how huge he was. Only in a house of Chihuahuas would anyone consider a 16 lb. dog huge :)
Ziggy quickly acquainted himself with the cat box by marking it. And then marking the box of cat litter. We quickly put on one of the belly bands his previous owner had sent with him. First order of business when he's finally settled in- Getting Fixed!!!!!
The chis still haven't quite made up their minds about Ziggy. They're a bit intimidated by his size, and Loki seems a bit depressed. I think they'll adjust, but it will take a bit of time.
Just for fun, we took all of the dogs hiking together for a little bonding:
One thing we do finally agree on- we definitely have enough dogs now :)

Hi,
I'm happy to hear Ziggy arrived safely. I'm sure they will be best buddies soon and Vixen will have the boys wrapped around her little paw!

Ziggy is beautiful. He reminds me of a little horse. I hope he has a wonderful time - I know you will be the best "parents" in the world!
Looks like a wonderful addition to your pack.

Hey Ziggy's is really cute just like my big brother Ziggy! Your Ziggy just doesn't have as much fur as my Ziggy! I think your Ziggy is gonna need some warm coats for Maine winters!

We stopped at three. And we have our hands full!
I haven't been by in awhile. Has everybody adjusted to Ziggy in your dawg house?
